Karnoutsos Arts & Sciences Hall

The new six-story Karnoutsos Arts & Sciences Hall is a classroom and office building that will allow NJCU to meet future enrollment needs and realize academic goals.

The arts and sciences structure features 14 state-of-the-art classrooms, 10 computer labs, faculty offices for nine departments, and the Office of the Dean of Arts and Sciences.

The 77,000-square-foot Karnoutsos Arts and Sciences Hall adjoins Fries Hall. A portion of Fries Hall, the institution’s original athletic facility, was demolished to provide adequate space for the new building.

The University selected STV Architects of New York, in association with Michael Graves & Associates, to design the academic building. Mr. Graves is known widely for his inventive architectural style and his imaginative use of color. For more than 30 years, Michael Graves & Associates has been at the forefront of architecture and interior design worldwide. The firm’s clients have included Walt Disney World ®, Denver Central Library, and New Jersey Institute of Technology.
