Expanded Library Resources During COVID-19 Pandemic
Expanded/Free Resources for NJCU Users
NJCU users get free access to expanded and extended resources from publishers and database providers in light of COVID-19 pandemic. The following databases have been added to Library Databases by Title.
- JSTOR: JSTOR expanded resources (including freely available for libraries of participating institutions to help students through June 30, 2023 due to COVID-19).
- Project MUSE: Project MUSE provides extra free content from participating publisher. NJCU users can access the resources here through library database search. Each publisher designates the specific content and for how long it will be freely available on MUSE. Find the updated list here.
- ProQuest: Added a free Coronavirus Research Database
Free Resources for All Users
- Books:
- Library of Congress Open Access Books
- Hathitrust: Temporary emergency access for members to 220,000 print titles in addition to the millions of existing open-access books. Read Harthitrust announcement here.
- Ohio State University Press Publications: Free access to monographs and textbooks in COVID-19 crisis.
- VitalSource: Textbooks from such major publishers as McGraw-Hill, Taylor and Francis, and Routledge. Individual login needed; limited to seven titles. VitalShource helps and FAQ.
- Redshelf: Hundreds of e-textbooks for both students and faculty; NJCU is a participating institution. Individual login needed; limited to seven titles.
- Gale: Open access to resources for teaching and learning (free registration required).
