    Class Visit To The Center

     
    If you would like to visit the Weiss Center with your class, please e-mail the M. Jerry Weiss Center staff at weisscenter@njcu.edu.  Please include:
    • Professor's Name
    • Professor's Contact Information
    • Class Name
    • Class Meeting Day & Time
    • Number of Students Needing Accommodation
    • Will all Students Attend at Same Time, in Different Shifts or Separately?
    • Preferred Day for Visit (Exact Date and Time)
    • At Least One Alternate Day if Preferred Day is Not Available (Exact Date and Time)
    • Focus:  Picture Books, Young Adult Books, Mix
    • Is an Orientation to Center Necessary? (In other words, have these students been previously exposed to the Center, or are they new to the Center?)
    • Would a Visit to Library's Juvenile and Curriculum Collections be Necessary or Helpful? (If so, please either fill out this online form http://www.njcu.edu/guarini/Forms/BIform.htm 
      Or call 201-200-3472 to request a library visit and instruction.  Please inform us if there any changes to the scheduled visit after contacting the library.)
     
    We ask that visitors to the center fill out a book review form for books read at the Center.

    The following are suggested forms for book reviews and book shares of children's and young adult literature courses. Please feel free to use these forms or adapt them for your use with your students: 

    You may also want to have your students complete annotated bibliographies related to themes or issues for exploration.  Samples of annotated bibliographies can be be found in the Center, and our staff will be glad to support students' visitations to the Center. 


    Please note:    You will receive confirmation from an authorized member of the Center's staff when your class visit form is submitted and approved.  Submitting this request does not confirm the visit.  Please allow a reasonable amount of time for confirmation.
