Ken Counselman has taught both children and adults in California, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Massachusetts, New York, and New Jersey. He has worked in rural, suburban, and urban areas and likes the city best. He has served as member and officer of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) in many different capacities: validator and commissioner of the child care accreditation system, secretary of local and state affiliates (MA and NY), and National Governing Board member. He is presently a reviewer and auditor of college and university early childhood and early childhood/special education blended programs for institutions seeking accreditation from NCATE, on which he has previously served as a member of the Board of Examiners. He is a former Vice President of the National Association of Teacher Educators. He is presently interested in curriculum for young children, with a particular affinity for unit blocks.
