The NJCU Counseling Center stands in solidarity with communities wounded by hate crimes, police brutality and systemic oppression. Recent reports of violence can reactivate memories of past trauma and abuse and escalate concerns about safety and the future for oneself, one’s loved ones, and one’s community. Feelings of anger, grief, anxiety and disconnection may arise for some of us.
We are here to support students who are being impacted by current events.
*A Space for You is a support group for students who would like a validating and collaborative place to discuss and process how such issues as hate crimes, oppression, racism, and marginalization affect the way we live and experience the world. Learn more about the group here.
*Let’s Talk sessions are available each weekday on a first come, first served basis for enrolled students who would like to speak with a counselor. To arrange for a Let’s Talk session, please email the Center at email@example.com or call 201-200-3165.
