The Department of Professional Security Studies focuses on a student–centered, scholar-practitioner approach to education. Its mission is to facilitate access, create opportunities and provide a supportive environment for achieving academic success through learning and appreciation of subject matter, professional and personal growth and the development of identified and marketable global and disciplinary competencies. Degree programs are designed for practicing security professionals as well as students seeking careers in the field. Course work is offered at our satellite campuses in Wall, NJ and Edison, NJ.
The Professional Security Studies Department is nationally recognized in Security Education and certified by the National Security Agency in Information Security Standard 4011 (INFOSEC) Effective 2012-2017 and Information Systems Security Office (ISSO) 4014E. Effective 2013-2018.
The National Security Agency’s program goal is to “reduce vulnerability in our national information infrastructure by promoting higher education and research in Information Assurance (IA) and producing a growing number of professionals with IA expertise in various disciplines. Certification… assure(s) the very finest preparation of professionals entrusted with securing our critical information.”
