Ed Tech Student Attending Webinar

Web scraping is the use of technology to mine large sets of data from websites for analysis. It can be used in humanities, business, education, and the social sciences. Large sets of tweets, Facebook posts, Amazon reviews, Zillow offerings, YouTube comments, and other recurring web data can be automatically collected and organized with Web scraping software.

This group will share ideas about Web scraping—technologies, research ideas, literature, and teaching applications.

The conversation is open to faculty, students, administrators, and staff who share an interest or are curious to learn more about web scraping. The interest group will be led and coordinated by Dr. Chris Shamburg.

The first scheduled meeting will take place on Wednesday, December 7, at 2:00 pm via Zoom. If you are interested in web scraping, please register—even if you cannot attend the meeting.
