Research Interests

Dr. Zieger is a pioneer in the educational technology field. Her work focuses on developing, implementing, and studying technologies to scaffold learning and increase motivation. Her expertise and experience lie at the intersection of research and technology — a unique position that affords her ways to innovate in the classroom and leverage emergent technology in meaningful ways to achieve educational goals and enhance learning experiences.

Dr. Zieger is a professor and the chairperson of the Department of Educational Technology at New Jersey City University. As a result of her recently co-authored book, Drones in Education: Let Your Students’ Imagination Soar, Dr. Zieger was featured in The Atlantic and spotlighted on the Women and Drones website. She is also an Activity Director for a Title III HSI-STEM Institutional Grant, engaging students from groups traditionally underrepresented in STEM through high impact strategies integrating technology.
   
Her expertise in the field is showcased at numerous conferences on such topics as online teaching and learning, student-centered instructional approaches integrating emerging technologies, virtual reality, robotics and drones as educational tools, and social computing applications in education.
