Bilingual/Bicultural Education Certification

Please note: This is a non-degree certification program.

This non-degree certification program is designed for students who already hold a standard New Jersey Department of Education teaching certification and would like to add the Bilingual/Bicultural Education Endorsement.

Supervisor (P-12) Certification

The Educational Leadership program is a predominantly online program offering courses in online and blended formats during each term, including summer sessions. Blended course will periodically meet in-class throughout the term, while most interaction will be conducted online.

Principal Certification Program

The Principal/Supervisor Certification program is designed for P-12 setting personnel who have at least five years of experience under a standard certification in their profession and/or possess a Supervisor Certification. This unique program allows students to utilize prior approved EDLD coursework to obtain this certification. The Principal Certification specializes in preparing experienced school leaders to foster the success of all students through engaging in effective instructional leadership, continuous professional learning, and collaborating and communicating with all stakeholders

New York Provisional Certification for Driver Education

The requirements to earn this certificate include: a valid New York driver's license of two or more years; a Bachelors degree; and complete of six credits.

 NOTE: Graduate credit may be attained for 500-level courses by students holding a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.

New York Permanent Certification for Driver Education

To complete this certificate students must complete all coursework in the New York Provisional Certification area and an additional six credits. 

NOTE: Graduate credit may be attained for 500-level courses by students holding a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.

New Jersey Certification for Driver Education

The requirements to earn this certificate include: a valid New Jersey driver's license of three or more years; a Bachelors degree with certification in health sciences or physical education; and complete 3 credits.

Art—New Jersey Art Teacher Certification Program (P–12)

(MUST BE COMBINED WITH EITHER A COMPLETED OR IN-PROGRESS DEGREE IN ART)

The New Jersey City University Art Teacher Certification Program (ATCP) prepares the art student to become a certified Art Teacher for grades Preschool through 12 in the State of New Jersey. ATCP is pursued concurrent with the NJCU BA in Art or the BFA degree. Students who have already received a Bachelor of Art in Art or a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at an accredited university or college enter in the Certification Only program.  NJCU is a Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC) and National Association of Art
