2020 Incoming Class

Our incoming class of first-year students are quite impressive!

As of July 29, we have 981 new students registered for the fall. The University is on track to bring in another freshman class of 1000 or more students. The quality of the incoming class represents a significant increase over last year and represents the strongest freshman class in NJCU’s history.  The average SAT score is up (+19) from 974 to 993 and High School GPA is up (+0.19) from 3.06 to 3.25.

New transfer enrollment continues to be a challenge exacerbated by the Free Community College initiative in New Jersey as well as COVID.  We are trending behind last year by 14% in terms of number of new students. However, the incoming transfer class is on track to be the strongest in our history in terms of college GPA (+0.47), up from 2.94 at this point last year to 3.41 to date.
