The Frank J. Guarini Institute for International Studies uniquely positions NJCU to expand its already impressive global focus. The vision is based on supporting research that explores the inter-connections between the global future of work and higher education. The platform calls for preparing students for the global future of work through immersive study abroad experiences and creating international partnerships with institutions of higher education, businesses, and organizations fostering the global nature of work.

Over his lifetime, Congressman Guarini has committed nearly $12 million to NJCU. This commitment to the University includes the lead gift toward the creation of a state-of-the-art performing arts center named after his parents, the funding of two endowed scholarships, and the establishment of a student managed investment fund.  In recognition of his support of NJCU and its mission the campus library bears his name.

The Frank J. Guarini Institute for International Studies showcases NJCU’s longstanding commitment to leverage the strengths of a diverse, international community to foster and accelerate advances in education, research, business, and innovation. These fundamentals are exemplified by the significant number of Fulbright Award winners and its ability to develop international trade forums at home and abroad through the Institute for Dispute Resolution.

Dr. Sue Henderson, President of the University noted, “By capitalizing on the synergy found when bringing together international leaders, scholars, students and programs, Congressman Guarini’s investment will hasten our shared vision to make NJCU the statewide leader in enhancing business, culture and citizenry,” she concluded.

The Frank J. Guarini Institute for International Studies will serve as the conduit by which these partners connect to advance economic development, deepen and grow academic partnerships, and spur personal development.
