NJCU Doctoral Student Appears on ABC’s “What Would You Do?”
JERSEY CITY, N.J. | A pregnant woman does not have enough money to pay for the meal she ordered. Will any customers step in to help?
That was the scenario presented when the hit hidden-camera series “What Would You Do?,” hosted by ABC News’ John Quiñones came to Wonder Bagels in Jersey City, N.J., last summer while doctoral students in New Jersey City University (NJCU) Educational Technology Department were ordering lunch.
In a beautiful moment, Violet Robinson-Onochie, a principal at Paul Robeson Community School in the New Brunswick Public School system and a current doctoral student in Cohort 10 of the Ed.D. in Educational Technology Leadership, decided to help the woman in need.
The segment with Robinson, who is wearing a Jersey City spirit-branded shirt, aired this week and begins at the 4:07 mark.
When surprised by Quiñones and asked why she chose to help, Robinson responded: “When you can, you should help, ‘cause you never really know when you’ll find yourself in the same situation.”
