Research Opportunities

LSAMP Research Internships are semester-long programs that enable undergraduates in the STEM fields (biology, chemistry, computer science, earth and environmental sciences, mathematics, physics) to work with faculty mentors in their laboratories and in the field, conducting research in a wide range of areas.

In addition to the incalculable academic and resume-building value of these intensive research experiences in their areas of interest, students are also paid a stipend based on the hours they spend conducting research as part of the LSAMP program.

To apply for an LSAMP internship, a student must be:

  • An LSAMP member (To apply, please visit https://www.njcu.edu/lsamp/lsamp-membership.)
  • Able to help meet LSAMP’s commitment to the development of highly competitive STEM students from historically underrepresented minority populations by identifying as African-American, Hispanic, American Indian, Alaskan Native, Native Hawaiian, or Pacific Islander
  • In good academic standing
  • Interested in pursuing a graduate and/or doctoral degree in a STEM field (other than medical).
  • Able to submit two RECOMMENDATION FORMS (new LSAMP members) or one recommendation form (current LSAMP members)

Apply for an LSAMP Research Internship Application (No late applications will be accepted.)

Application deadline for SPRING 2019 Research: April 26, 2019.

Students must apply for an LSAMP Research Internship every semester; prior participation does not transfer to the next semester.
