A Bachelor of Science in Accounting provides a detailed understanding of how accounting systems are structured and implemented, as well as a valuable foundation in how businesses function. Students completing this major are prepared for a career in public agencies or private firms as an auditor, tax preparer, budget analyst or corporate manager. The accounting degree provides the required background for students planning to pursue an M.B.A or other graduate program. Undergraduates may also take the five year combined Bachelor of Science to Master of Science in Accounting Program.

The accounting curriculum also prepares students to sit for the Certified Public Accounting (CPA) examination. In New Jersey, students need 150 semester hours of college credits. The undergraduate accounting program combined with the Master of Science in Accounting is designed to meet this requirement. In addition the degree is an excellent base for students planning on pursuing an M.B.A. or an M S in accounting.

The requirements for admission to this degree program are

  • A minimum cumulative undergraduate grade point average (CGPA) of 2.5
  • A minimum CGPA of 2.5 in all Business courses

Transfer Students
