Hugo Morales Endowed Scholarship - 2026

The Council of Hispanic Affairs is pleased to announce the Hugo Morales Endowed Scholarship for the Spring 2026 semester. This scholarship supports Hispanic and Latinx students who demonstrate academic excellence, humility, and a commitment to service. Both undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to apply.

Scholarship Awards:

Four (4) students will be selected.

Three (3) awards of $1,000
One (1) award of $850

Eligibility Requirements:

Applicants must:

Identify as Hispanic or Latinx
Have completed at least 60 college credits
Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00
Be currently enrolled in or planning to enroll in Spring 2026

Essay Requirement:

Submit a 350–500 word personal statement that:

Explains why you should be selected for this scholarship
Shares specific examples of humility and selflessness demonstrated through academic, personal, and/or community experiences
Is authentic and reflective—your lived experiences matter

Letter of Recommendation:

One (1) letter from a current faculty or staff member who can speak to your character, academic achievements, and potential
