Women's Entrepreneurship Week Event at NJCU

Women Entrepreneurship Week (WEW) nurtures, inspires and energizes female founders around the world. WEW started in 2014 at Montclair State University.

Be inspired and hear practical advice as female founders take the stage to share how they did it while launching a startup. More than 200 universities and college in 30 countries and 43 states, plus D.C., in the U.S. will host WEW 2019 events on their respective campuses. The sixth annual Women Entrepreneurship Week will be held Oct. 19-26, 2019.

Dawn Pascale is founder of Om Sweet Home, a specialty bakery that focuses on plant-based and gluten-free pastries, desserts and products. While working as a human resources professional in the financial services industry during 2005, Dawn launched Simply Home Goods, a traditional baked goods company with the mission of delivering simply homemade, made-to-order decadence. Her made-from-scratch cakes, cookies and pies were created with only the highest quality ingredients and she took pride in serving them to private clients, family and friends.

When Dawn was laid off from her job at Citigroup in January 2013, she knew that it was time to pursue her passion full time. Over the past four years, Dawn has grown Om Sweet Home from a one person operation, working out of rented commercial kitchen in Hoboken, New Jersey to a team of three pastry chefs with a storefront and commercial baking facility in Cliffside Park, New Jersey. She looks forward to expanding her wholesale baking business and growing Non-Dairy Butter Alternative into a national brand.
