DR. BARBARA BLOZEN, Associate Professor of Nursing, was appointed as President of the New Jersey State Board of Nursing.

DR. LORRAINE CHEWEY, faculty & alumna, was named the 2018 National Academy of School Nursing Fellow.

DR. JOHN DONNELLAN, Associate Professor and Chair of the Management Department at the NJCU School of Business. He presented at the 2018 Conference on Education Research Symposium and the 2017 Oxford Business & Economics Conference, both at Oxford University, and presented at the 2017 Fifth Annual International Conference on Sustainable Development at Columbia University. Dr. Donnellan’s recent publications include the Journal of Management and International Journal of Economics and Finance. In addition, he is a two time Fulbright Scholar 2017 and 2019 for research on collaborative education between Finland and USA.

DR. EDVIGE GIUNTA, Professor of English, received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Triangle Fire Memorial Association, highlighting her ongoing work to honor the memories of victims of a 1911 factory fire in New York City that exposed horrible working conditions which contribution to the cause of the blaze. Dr. Guinta’s memoir of her youth in Sicily and her involvement in the feminist movement, entitled “City Girls”, was published in Voices in Italian Americana. Her poem,

“Litany for My Mother’s Hands,” originally published in Barrow Street was published in Italian translation in Patria Letteratura

DR. GRAIG R. KLEIN, Assistant Professor of Security Studies, co-authored research articles on environmental terrorism (Journal of Elections, Public Opinion & Parties) and protest dynamics (International Organization), as well as pieces for the Washington Post and other outlets relating the research to current events. He also established NJCU as a partner in the NORAD/US Norther Command sponsored North American Defense and Security Academic Alliance.

DR. ZUI CHIH (RICK) LEE was selected as the Northeast Regional recipient of the 2018 ACBSP Teaching Excellence Award for baccalaureate/graduate degree granting institutions. This is the second year in a row that a member in the NJCU School of Business has received this honor.

DR. KATHLEEN DONOHUE RENNIE, APR, PRSA Fellow, Associate Professor of Marketing and Director of the Doctorate in Civil Security Leadership, Management and Policy Program, co-authored a chapter on Social-Mediated Crisis Communication in Casing Risk and Crisis Communication, and an article on the Outcomes of Strategic Communication in MBA Curriculum that is scheduled for publication in the Journal of Management Education. In April, Dr. Rennie presented at the Institute for Public Relations’ Bridge Conference in Washington, DC, and at the World PR Forum in Oslo, Norway, where she presented a paper on the Byrum- Rennie Taxonomy for integrating strategic communication across disciplines.

DR. KUTUB THAKUR, Assistant Professor in Professional Security Studies, published in the International Journal of Communication Networks and Information Security and published an analysis of AI-based supervised classifiers for intrusion detection in big data for the CRC Press Taylor and Francis Group.

ANN WALLACE, Associate Professor in the English Department,published four poems in response to the Majory Stoneman Douglas High School tragedy. “Valentine’s, Another Day”, and “The Weight of the Numbers” were both published in Poets Reading the News, while “Dear Parents” and “Nearsighted” were published in Tuck Magazine. Ann and her daughter, Abby, read the piece “Valentine’s, Another Day” on the National Walk Out Day at The Ethical Community Charter School, where Ann serves as the founder and a trustee.
