Online tutoring sessions via TutorMe will be available throughout the summer. TutorMe is available Monday through Sunday, offering tutoring in math, writing, STEM, Business, and other subjects. TutorMe can be accessed via the Tutoring and Academic Support Services course on Blackboard.

The Office of Centralized Tutoring and Academic Support Programming at New Jersey City University empowers a diverse student population with sustainable and transferable skills to become our next generation of leaders. Grounded in real-world applications and a commitment to developing leadership, ethics, and critical thinking, the academic support center assists students in cultivating a passion for lifelong learning that will assist in future career and academic endeavors.
The Hub is our main campus location where all academic support services are available to undergraduate and graduate students, including students at our School of Business and Fort Monmouth campuses. All academic support services, including tutoring, workshops, academic coaching, and counseling via Rebound intern counselors, are available in-person at Guarini Library and remotely via Zoom.
Writing, Reading, Mathematics, Business, and STEM subjects

Students seeking tutoring in subjects other than writing and mathematics can access TutorMe, online tutoring service, via our Blackboard course titled NJCU Tutoring and Academic Support Services. Contact thehub@njcu.edu if you do not have access.
Asynchronous writing support for doctoral students and online students pursuing graduate degrees. This service has been extended to all students; however, we strongly suggest that first-year students engage in synchronous writing tutoring sessions.
Services extend to Sundays during finals, giving students an opportunity for last minute academic support.
Workshop are held throughout the fall and spring semesters.
Additional workshops in collaboration with OSP, OSS/SI, TLC, and the Community Service Center may run during the semester.
Academic Coaching provides one-on-one sessions between the student and academic coach with an emphasis on the student’s specific academic needs, for example, course material and skills pertaining to content areas including STEM, foundational mathematics, reading, and writing. Academic Coaches may meet with instructors, department chairs, coordinators, and directors to discuss students’ content specific needs.
Located in The Hub, the services of the Academic Coaches provide communications regarding needs and relationship building among the student, tutor, and academic coach; this is inclusive of booking Personal Tutoring Plans and providing outreach to other departments such as SOAR, OSS/SI, Counseling, UAC, etc.
Rebound is a university-wide academic probation support program that ensures students on academic probation (CGPAs below 2.0) receive mandatory, regularly scheduled tutoring, counseling, academic advisement, and academic coaching. Participation in the Rebound program may help students to exit academic probation, continue to receive financial aid, successfully appeal academic dismissal, learn about the student support services available, and graduate from NJCU in a timely manner.
The Rebound Team includes the Office of the Provost; The Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management; Office of Centralized Tutoring and Academic Support Programming; University Advisement Center (UAC); Office of Student Outreach and Retention (SOAR); ASCEND Program; TRiO Learning Community Program (TLC); Opportunity Scholarship Program (OSP); Athletics; and more.
The Learning Assistance (LA) model provides embedded tutors in classrooms where skills acquisition, such as language, writing, and reading, is the focus. Trained embedded tutors play an active role in the class under the guidance of the instructor and offer one-on-one and group tutoring support outside the classroom during Hub hours of operation.
