Upcoming Opportunities for Students in Summer 2026
Call for Student Research
Through a partnership with the Bergen Community College, the Kean Jersey City STEAM Academy is proud to support student research for submission to the STEMC2 Research Summit 2026.
The STEM C² Conference is a premier student research and professional development event. It provides a platform for students to present their innovative work, explore new developments across STEM fields, and network with peers.
Students in our programs should submit their research and project ideas for speaking sessions or poster sessions. This is an excellent opportunity for our students to further refine their Capstone work and research from our STEAM Fair to be presented to individuals and entities from various institutions and industries.
Details:
- The STEM C² Research and Career Summit will be on Wednesday, August 12th, 2026 (8:00 AM - 4:00 PM) at Bergen Community College, Paramus Campus. The address is 400 Paramus Rd, Paramus, NJ.
- Free for our STEAM Academy students to attend.
- Submission of STEAM Academy capstone work or research is highly encouraged. Parents and guardians, this is the perfect opportunity for your student to showcase their skills and build their professional resumes early.
- To register to attend as a guest, click here.
- All students of the STEAM Academy who wish to present, please register them [HERE].
- All presenters must register by August 1st.
All student presenters and attendance is strictly voluntary, and parents/guardians are responsible for getting to the Research and Career Summit.

FAQS FOR THE SUMMER 2026 PROGRAM
Question: I received my acceptance letter. I paid the deposit for my child(ren). What happens next?
Parents should ensure they have made all required payments for children before any additional Acceptance Packet information is then sent. Only parents that have made full payments will receive this information. That packet contains information to register for the Virtual Opening Ceremony on June 25th at 6:00 PM and important forms that are required for parents to complete before students begin the program and enter lab spaces.
Question: I am not sure if I made the full payment. What can I do?
You can reach out to us at steamacademy@njcu.edu and CC our accounts administrator, Tayo Arogula at rarogula@njcu.edu.
Question: I have
Please send an email to steamacademy@njcu.edu and we will be happy to help.
Question: I have completed the above steps. Can you check my information and make sure I did it right?
Our team will be notifying parents of any issues we see during our reviews of the required steps. Parents should keep copies of all confirmation emails for all three of the above steps should you be contacted by our program staff to clarify anything further. Please do not send us an email to ask us to confirm for you.
Question: I have two children that were admitted into the program. How do I receive a sibling discount?
Parents that have a new student and a returning student are eligible. If you have two returning students, the sibling discount does not apply.
Please reach out to us at steamacademy@njcu.edu if you have both a new student and a returning student.
Question: Will there be lunches available this year again? How do we buy lunch?
There is no formal lunch period for students this year. There is only a working snack. Your child must come to the program with something to snack on if you want that option. There will be no visits to vending machines or the Gilligan Student Union Building (GSUB) cafeteria between classes. Year 4 students that are remaining on-campus to take college courses are the exception.
Question: Do you offer transportation to the program?
Our program does not offer transportation, or funding to cover transportation costs. We can be accessed via mass transit bus stops right outside of our campus main gates, and parents and guardians can pickup and drop off, arrange private carpools with other parents or guardians, or allow their children to walk or bike to-and/or-from campus.
We are conveniently accessible right off John F. Kennedy Boulevard in Jersey City, NJ.
Question: When do I receive my child's schedule, teachers, and any other information?
All parents and guardians will receive additional information after they receive the Acceptance Packet and complete it in its entirety. The schedule and teachers will not be provided if the parents have outstanding tuition payments.
Question: I want to enroll my child in a certificate program or college-credit option. How do I do this?
Please visit our Schedule & Curriculum page for more information!
Question: I have another question that is not answered here. Who should I contact?
Please contact us at steamacademy@njcu.edu and allow us 24 hours to get back to you.
