Can our contemporary society disband the historic, stereotypical view of “a real man” emotionally guarded, stoic, and controlling, and instead accept a truer, more honest and open version of who they are? Using himself as the subject, Pecoraro’s large-scale figurative work draws from deep, emotional and personal experiences that address masculinity during moments of abjection, transition and vulnerability.
