Audiometric/ Hearing Testing
The EHS Department will provide an Authorization Form to schedule a hearing test for the following employees: Grounds, Fleet, Boiler Room, Maintenance, and Fire Safety. Enter a work order in School Dude under the “Health and Safety” icon.

Confined Space Permit

Ergonomic Assessments of Computer Workstations
The EHS Department may conduct an Ergonomic Assessment of computer workstations using OSHA’s checklist and provide a summary with recommendations.  To request an ergonomic assessment enter a work order in School Dude under the “Health and Safety” icon. For more information on good working positions refer to these guidelines from OSHA and the OSHA checklist.

Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Investigations
The EHS Department works in partnership with the FCM Department to investigate employee complaints of signs or symptoms that may be associated with building-related issues. To report an IAQ concern enter a work order in School Dude under the “Air Quality” icon.

Hepatitis-B Vaccine & Bloodborne Pathogens Program
The EHS Department has identified the following employees who have a reasonably anticipated exposure to blood or potentially infectious materials and will be offered the Hepatitis B Vaccine, at no cost to the employee. Enter a work order in School Dude under the “Health and Safety” icon for an Authorization Form.

  • A.Harry Moore School – Faculty, Staff, Aides, Nursing Personnel  who, as part of their regular duties while working with “Special needs” children, may be exposed to body fluids of children, shall be included in this Program. This also includes Dietary staff, Camp staff, and support staff.
  • Athletics – Trainers, Coaches, Lifeguards who may be required to care for/ treat injured students during the course of their training, practices, or games.
  • Biology / Lab Technician who, in the course of his assignment, is required to handle “finger stick” sharps from many students enrolled in various courses.
  • Facilities – Plumbers, Pipefitters, Repairmen, Grounds Crew, and their Supervisors who regularly repair areas in bathrooms where exposure may exist
  • Hepburn Day Care Center – Teachers, Assistants, Aides who, in the course of their daily duties may be required to treat or handle body fluids of young children.
  • Housekeeping Personnel who, in the course of their everyday duties across the Campus, are required to wash, clean, or disinfect sinks, toilets, etc., and empty trash.
  • Medical Services – Campus Nurses whose routine task it is to teach or treat injured or ill students, faculty, staff or employees.
  • Professional Studies – Department of Nursing – Faculty whose task it is to supervise Nursing students in the Clinical Areas. This may also include various functions of the Annual University Health Fair, which is held on campus.
  • Public Safety Personnel – who are required to be 1st responders to ill or injured students, faculty or staff in the course of their Shift assignment.

Respirator Fit Testing
The EHS Department will provide an Authorization Form to schedule a respirator fit test for the following employees: Housekeepers, Grounds, Fleet, Boiler Room, Maintenance, and lab technicians working in Art, Chemistry and Biology Departments.
