Driver Education Certification

Classroom and Behind the Wheel: 3 credits

Admission to this certification program requires a valid driver’s license from any state or a learner’s permit from the State of New Jersey.

NOTE: Graduate credit may be attained for 500-level courses by students holding a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.

New York Provisional Certification for Driver Education

Classroom and behind the wheel: This certificate program enhances a bachelor and master degrees in health sciences as well as New Jersey Certification for driver education.

New York Permanent Certification for Driver Education

Classroom and behind the wheel: This certificate program enhances a bachelor and master degree in health sciences and supports NJ certification for driver education.

Health Sciences—Public Health Education, B.S.

The Health Sciences Department’s baccalaureate program in Health Education is nationally recognized as a portfolio-approved program for the basic level in Health Education by the Association for the Advancement of Health Education (AAHE), a specialty organization of the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).

Our programs build a solid foundation of theoretical knowledge, and then apply that theory to real-world practice. With bachelor’s, master’s and certificate programs, NJCU’s Health Sciences Department offers educational opportunities for future health sciences professionals and for those looking to augment an already successful career.

Health Sciences Department faculty is student-centered and committed to preparing the next generation for the complex health issues facing our diverse society today. They focus on developing students into critical thinkers, effective communicators and problem solvers who are ready for today’s complex health care world.

Alumni of the Health Sciences Department can go on to become counselors, public health advocates, researchers, administrators and more. Some work in traditional health care settings like hospitals and health centers, while others choose government and nonprofit agencies, health insurance companies and schools. A health sciences education is an open door on today’s job market for someone who truly wants to make a difference.
