NJCU has, since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, carefully followed the recommendations of the US Centers for Disease Control and the State of New Jersey. In furtherance of the University’s educational mission, NJCU continues to review its processes and procedures with regard to the health and safety of the University community.


New Jersey City University has determined that a fully vaccinated community is the best way to both support our mission and ensure the safety of the University community. Procedures and protocols have been developed to implement a University-wide COVID-19 vaccination requirement. All employees must be fully vaccinated prior to the beginning of the Spring 2022 academic semester.

NJCU recognizes that some employees may have deeply held religious beliefs and/or medical reasons for not taking the COVID-19 vaccination and shall allow for religious and medical exemptions.
