An Agent of Change for Our State
As an educational institution, we have the resources to deliver programs that can benefit everyone in New Jersey. What’s more, we’ve discovered that a majority of our graduates opt to stay in-state and become our next generation of parents, citizens, community leaders, and policy makers—who then make the Garden State a great place to live, work and play.
Studying in New Jersey: Affordable, Diverse, Transformative
NJCU is proud to call Jersey City—and the State of New Jersey home. They are major destinations for fun, for culture, for food—and more importantly, access to employment and internship opportunities. Ranked as the most diverse city in the country by WalletHub, Jersey City is home to people from all over the world. And NJCU’s students fit right in. Here, you’ll prepare for a complex and global world by living, learning, working and spending time with people of all ages, places and experiences.
There are many things that make getting your education in New Jersey a great move—including benefitting from low in-state tuition rates at public institutions like ours.
Garden State Guarantee
NJCU is proud to partner with the State of New Jersey to offer the Garden State Guarantee (GSG). This is a historic investment which will afford undergraduate students with adjusted gross incomes of $65,000 or less the opportunity to attend our State’s four-year public institutions tuition-free for two years. The GSG builds upon our successful multi-year investment at NJCU demonstrated through our Debt-Free Promise Program.
New Jersey Scholar Corps Program
As New Jersey faces the challenges of rebuilding a devastated economy due to the coronavirus crisis, NJCU has partnered with other state public colleges and universities to offer a special program for NJ college students currently attending school out-of-state.
Through this program, students may seamlessly transfer to one of New Jersey’s outstanding public universities like NJCU, benefit from in-state tuition benefits and take part in community-building volunteer activities.
In August of 2021, we opened NJCU @ Fort Monmouth to expand bachelor's and master's degrees along the Jersey Shore, and now offer the only affordable four-year programs in that area. The new state-of-the-art facility features 15 classrooms, a nursing education center, a cybersecurity computer lab, and plenty of spaces for socializing and studying.
Community College Partnerships
NJCU partners with community colleges throughout the state to enable students to seamlessly complete their bachelor's degrees, often at convenient locations on their college campuses.
