About SURI Research Activities

SURI's vision is to engage all of our undergraduate students across the STEM disciplines in cutting-edge scientific research.

Why is Research Valuable?

Participating in undergraduate research gives you the opportunity to:

  • Work one-on-one with internationally distinguished faculty;
  • Participate in cutting-edge research projects with far-reaching impact;
  • Make significant contributions to a field you care about; and
  • Enhance your competitiveness for graduate or professional school admission or high-level employment.

How Do I Get Started?

STEP 1: Identify the faculty member with whom you want to do research.

STEP 2: Schedule a meeting with a faculty member with whom you are interested to work alongside.

STEP 3: Enroll in the research laboratory.

Are you still wondering if research is for you?

Schedule a meeting with the SURI Founder and Director Dr. Natalia Coleman at ncoleman@njcu.edu.

Students Research Opportunities

There are several mechanisms to participate in research: volunteering, research courses, summer internships, scholarships for Spring and Fall semesters. Please discuss the specific mechanism to enroll into research with the research faculty member you plan to do research.
