Nursing students being helped by professor in class

Technology is pervasive and ever changing in healthcare and education. As such, we will continue to evaluate any revisions or adaptations to stay true to our vision. Some areas that we are evaluating include:

  • We are currently investigating bringing the iNurse Initiative to our RN to BSN program and graduate nursing programs.
  • Accelerated BSN faculty are in the process of becoming Apple Teacher certified.
  • We are transitioning to the use of FileMaker for reducing our use of paper-based clinical evaluation tools, maintenance of Nursing Department records, maintaining a historic library of course syllabi, etc. Two faculty have received low code training by FileMaker to facilitate this implementation.
  • We envision using Augmented Reality (AR) with learner and faculty iPads to further facilitate human patient simulation in our Nursing Education Center as this technology matures and becomes more readily accessible.
  • We are in the planning stage of creating our own customized training videos to demonstrate skills such as physical assessment and other nursing skills utilizing iPhone and iPad as video capture devices and editing in iMovie and Final Cut Pro. Video production will include faculty and students.
