About This Degree

The MS Accounting Degree requires 30 credits in the specialization.  Students in the BS/MS Accounting Bridge Program will have completed nine (9) credits of the required graduate specializations courses in their undergraduate program. Upon graduation from the BS Accounting Program, Accounting Bridge students will have 21 credits (7 courses) remaining in order to complete their MS Accounting Degree. Our students have internship and job opportunities at PwC, Withum, SobelCo, and other firms.

The Program is Divided Into Two Phases

B.S. Phase - Completion of bachelor's degree requirements, 120 total undergraduate credits, plus 9 graduate credits. The graduate credits are applied to both the bachelor's and master's degree requirements. Students pay the undergraduate tuition rate for the nine graduate credits. Formal application for admission to the program are accepted during the term in which the student completes 80 undergraduate credits towards the baccalaureate degree.

M.S. Phase - In the last semester of undergraduate studies, students formally apply for matriculation as graduate students into the M.S. Accounting program. Students then pay the graduate tuition rate for the remaining 21 graduate credits.

The combined B.S. / M.S. in Accounting Program serves the needs of NJCU undergraduates who intend to enter the accounting profession. The 150-credit program (120-undergraduate credits and 30-graduate credits) allows students to meet the current educational requirements to be licensed as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the State of New Jersey.

Formal application to the program can be made during the term in which the student has completed 80 undergraduate credits towards the baccalaureate degree.
