Currently, at NJCU, Thyquel serves on the Board of Trustees as a Student Representative, Student Government Association President, an Orientation Leader, and holds many more positions. Outside of his school leadership roles he works for the Mayor’s Office in Jersey City as the Deputy Fiscal Administrator and Lead Community Project Coordinator in the Division of Cultural Affairs and formerly served as an Administrative Aide for the Office of The President at NJCU. Thyquel also serves as the Vice-Chair of the New Jersey Higher Education Student Assistance Authority Student Advisory Committee. He has also been interning at the NJ Department of State for the past 7 months. Thyquel actively fights food insecurities and volunteers consistently within his community and beyond. Thyquel holds a passion for Public and Motivation Speaking where he speaks on multiple platforms. God is the center of Thyquel’s life, his motivation is Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

My name is Marco De La Cruz and I am a rising senior at New Jersey City University. I am beyond honored and excited to be spending my senior year serving my community. I believe that no human is limited, and I believe anyone can make an impact if they really want to. I grew up in Union City, New Jersey but I was born in Mexico in 2001. Having to move to a different country and adapt somewhere new is not something that happens to everyone. I grew up seeing how challenging it was for my parents to work twice as hard to provide shelter and food on the table while also being selfless and helping others around them when they got the chance to. In my free time, I enjoy jogging and listening to business podcasts. I will be working hard this academic school year with my E-Board to make sure the students' needs and concerns are acknowledged. We will all work together and make this year and institution one to remember!

Hey everyone, my name is Alice Johnson, and I will be a Junior this fall. I am currently the SGA VP of Internal Affairs, meaning you can bring any student problems to my attention. I was born in Nigeria and came to America at a young age. My long-term career is to one day be a company's CEO and open my practice to help married couples with any issues, but God may lead me in another direction, so who knows. I am passionate about helping people of all backgrounds because we all go through so much in a country that speaks so highly of freedom.

Hi everyone! My name is Darwin Garrido. I was born and raised in Guatemala, and I came to the United States at the age of 16 years old. I am a raising honors student here at NJCU. I am the SGA VP of Finance and Administration. Currently I am currently doing research in the biology field, I am an Orientation Leader, and outside school I am a Student Ambassador for the PreMed Scene, and I am also a certified EMR. My goal after college is to attend medical school with the desire to become an orthopedic surgeon. A fan fact about me is that I started high school when I was 18 years old, and I am a certified Scuba Diver. For fun I love to go outdoors, such as hiking, scuba diving, camping, and other activities. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out to me. Hi everyone, my name is Ruth Diegue and I am a rising Honors junior here at NJCU. I am currently entering my role as the new SGA VP of Public Relations & Marketing and I am a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Tau Sigma Chapter. In my role I will make sure that you all can reach out to SGA via either Instagram or email and we will be there for you. Besides that, I was raised in a Haitian household, and I speak English/Haitian Creole both fluently. My goal is life is to become a Pharmeceutical Sales Representative and eventually get my doctorate in Public Health. I strive to always put my best foot forward not only in the school but in the community that surrounds me. My vivacious personality and my determination will allow me to connect with you all on a deeper level and truly make SGA the voice of the students.
