School Nurse Practicum Completion Portal
The School Nurse Practicum Completion Portal is a collaborative space for School Nurse Certificate Candidates, NJCU Faculty Clinical Supervisors within the Nursing Department in the College of Professional Studies, and our Cooperating School Nurse Preceptors/Cooperating Health Educators from our partner school districts across the state of New Jersey. The purpose of this space is to provide a seamless transition for our School Nurse Practicum Candidates, assisting them in obtaining their certification as we strive to address current nursing workforce issues, including the faculty shortage. This portal is also available to our Clinical Supervisors and Cooperating School Nurse Preceptors/Cooperating Health Educators to provide valuable feedback regarding our student learning outcomes.
The School Nurse Certification program at NJCU is approved by the New Jersey Department of Education. Specific information regarding the administrative codes can be found on the N.J.A.C. 6A:9B, State Board of Examiners and Certification webpage. The two school nurse endorsements, which identify the type of services the holder can provide; School Nurse Instructional Standard Certificate (Endorsement code 3000, and School Nurse Non-Instructional Standard Certificate (Endorsement code 3010, can be found within Educational Services Certificates. We are committed to assisting Candidates who complete our program through the process of obtaining their certification.

NJDOE Certification Fee Holiday Process
All certification and credentialing fees processed by the Office of Recruitment, Preparation, and Certification are waived for the period beginning July 1, 2023, and ending June 30, 2024, thanks to the new state budget and legislation signed by Governor Phil Murphy.
The School Nurse Certifications fall under the Educational Services Certification. All Candidates who submit their application within the NJDOE Certification Fee Holiday window are eligible for this state benefit. Visit https://www.nj.gov/education/certification/apply/fee_holiday.shtml for details.
