POLI 205: History of Political Thought

This course focuses on reading and discussion of selected works from both classical and modern political philosophy. Students read the work of essential political thinkers -- such as Plato, Aristotle, Machiavelli, Hobbes, Locke, Rousseau, Mill, Marx, Nietzsche, Freud, and Arendt -- and concentrate on the political dimensions of their thought.

ART 205: Art and Politics

This course explores the relationship between western art and politics, from the French Revolution to the present through a close examination of primary and secondary source textual resources and graphic illustrations. It is offered periodically in the art department and is team taught with faculty from political science and the art department.
