Important Update - How to Contact Admissions

Undergraduate Admissions remains open to service students virtually.

1. Transfer Credit Evaluation

Once your transfer credits have been reviewed, an evaluation of your courses will be emailed to you.  This is generally completed within two weeks after you receive your acceptance letter.  If you have any questions regarding your evaluation, please contact the Transfer Resource Center at 201-200-3418 or email TransferResourceCenter@njcu.edu if you have not received a copy of your transfer credit evaluation.

Accept your offer of Admission and Scholarship (if applicable) online at GothicNet by:

  • December 1st 2020 for the SPRING term (January start)
  • May 1st 2021 for the FALL term (September start)

You will need your Gothic ID/Password to access your account.  This information was mailed to you at the time you submitted your application.  Your Gothic ID is located on the right hand corner of your acceptance letter.  Click on Forgot Password if you need help with your password.

NJCUmobile App is now available with many new features!

Join us for a Virtual Admitted Students Day.  Admissions counselors will be available to answer any questions.

2A. Your Key to Staying Connected at NJCU

Once you have accepted your offer of Admission, we will send you an updated password for GothicNet along with your NJCU email address.  This updated password will provide full student access to the GothicNet portal.  You will be able to view your Financial Aid, Student Billing, Class schedule and other important University Information.

3. Financial Aid

Scholarship recipients must enroll Full-Time into an undergraduate program of study (minimum of 12 credit hours) and maintain a 3.0 GPA for the life of the scholarship.

All scholarship recipients must complete and file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (www.fafsa.gov), and receive a valid Student Aid Report in order to receive the scholarship. Scholarship amounts will be adjusted to direct billed costs of tuition and fees.  NJCU Scholarships may not be used to cover cost of Residence Halls.  Adjustments will be based upon the result of the FAFSA as well as other scholarships and grants awarded.   

Students who have already earned a Bachelor’s Degree are ineligible for Scholarship Awards

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at fafsa.gov to maximize the grant options available to you.  All Scholarship recipients are required to file the FAFSA.

4. Advisement & Course Registration

Please refer to your emailed credit evaluation for your advisor's contact information. For student's taking classes on our Jersey City campus, please refer to the University Advisement Center's guide on their homepage to determine your advisor. Registration will begin:

  • For Spring 2021 (January) on November 3, 2020
  • For Fall 2021 (September) in March 2021

*If you are transferring into our NJCU@Wall location, please contact our coordinators at Wall to schedule an appointment with your advisor at 732-894-3282. 

5. Sign up for New Transfer Student Orientation

Sign up for your Transfer Orientation and become part of the Gothic Knight family. Be prepared for a fun and informative event tailored for you as you begin your journey at NJCU. Visit the Transfer Orientation page for orientation dates and details.

6. Request your Final Transcripts

Submit your final college transcript to the Office of University Admissions.  If you have completed college coursework sponsored by another university, you must also request to have those official transcripts submitted to NJCU for transfer credit consideration.

7. Living and Learning

8. Immunization Records

Request your immunization records from your school or doctor as soon as possible to allow time for processing. New Jersey State Law requires all students born after 1956 to submit proof of immunity to Measles (2 doses), Mumps, and Rubella or file a valid exception. For more information on requirements and how to submit your records, visit The Health and Wellness Center page or call the Health and Wellness Center at 201-200-3456.

8A. Enroll in/Waive the medical plan and discount program.

9. Paying for College

Review your tuition and payment plan options via your GothicNet account. For student billing questions, please visit the Office of Student Accounts in Hepburn Hall, Room 106 or call 201-471-6099.
