Checklist for Admitted Transfer Students

1. Secure your Spot

Your confirmation is key to reserving your place here at NJCU.

Submit your New Student Tuition Deposit online at GothicNet by December 15, 2019 (for Spring 2020 students) or May 1, 2020 (for Fall 2020 students) The $50 New Student Tuition Deposit is non-refundable.

You will need your Gothic ID/Password to access your account.  This information was mailed to you at the time you submitted your application.  Your Gothic ID is located on the right hand corner of your acceptance letter.  Click on Forgot Password if you need help with your password.

2. Your Key to Staying Connected at NJCU

Upon receipt of your New Student Tuition Deposit, we will send you an updated password for GothicNet along with your NJCU email address.  This updated password will provide full student access to the GothicNet portal.  You will be able to view your Financial Aid, Student Billing, Class schedule and other important University Information.

3. Financing Your Education

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at to maximize the grant options available to you.  All Scholarship recipients are required to file the FAFSA.

New Jersey Residents are required to complete the additional questions for the NJ Higher Education Student Assistant Authority (HESAA) found at the end of the FAFSA application.

4. Transfer Credit Evaluation and Advisement 

Once your transfer credits have been reviewed, an evaluation of your courses will be emailed to you.  This is generally completed within two weeks after you receive your acceptance letter.  Please contact the University Admissions at 201-200-3234 or email if you have not received a copy of your transfer credit evaluation.

Please contact the University Advisement Center at 201-200-3300 to schedule an appointment with an academic advisor to register for the upcoming semester.*

*If you are transferring into our NJCU@Wall location, please contact our coordinators at Wall to schedule an appointment with your advisor at 732-894-3282. 

5. Sign up for New Transfer Student Orientation

Sign up for your Transfer Orientation and become part of the Gothic Knight family. Be prepared for a fun and informative event tailored for you as you begin your journey at NJCU. Visit the Transfer Orientation page for orientation dates and details.

6. Request your Final Transcripts

Submit your final college transcript (with graduation date) to the Office of University Admissions.  If you have completed college coursework sponsored by another university, you must also request to have those official transcripts submitted to NJCU for transfer credit consideration.

8. Health & Wellness

Request your immunization records from your school or doctor as soon as possible to allow time for processing. New Jersey State Law requires all students born after 1956 to submit proof of immunity to Measles (2 doses), Mumps, and Rubella or file a valid exception. Access information on requirements and how to submit your records, or call the Health and Wellness Center at 201-200-3456.

9. Paying for College

Review your tuition and payment plan options via your GothicNet account. For student billing questions, please visit the Office of Student Accounts in Hepburn Hall, Room 106 or call 201-200-3045.
