Artist Statement

Dogs are usually the side characters in photo narratives. Photographing them gives them an opportunity to tell their story… I’m fascinated by the theme of companionship and the bond that forms between animals. Through my body of work, I try to explore the relationship between older and younger dogs, and how they help one another to learn and grow.

Having a young dog juxtaposed to an older dog, in a photograph, can hopefully shine a light on adopting senior dogs and or puppies that need a home while also showing how beautiful the stages of a dog's life can be with an age gap throughout the companionship.

I want to emphasize that these dogs have the ability to connect with each other on a deeper level and how they can help each other in more ways than humans sometimes can't.
